A total of 573 indigenous germplasm of 62 crops were collected from 31 upazilas of 10 districts. Among them, 14 germplasm from cereals (foxtail millet, prosomillet, maize, pearl millet, sorghum etc), 41 pulses (black gram, mung bean, cowpea, lentil, grass pea, horse gram, pigeon pea, pea, chickpea, hinta), 40 oilseeds (sesame, mustard, linseed, groundnut, soybean, sunflower, niger, safflower), 38 spices (chilli, coriander, black cumin, fenugreek, fennel, celery, ajowan), 423 vegetables (amaranth (red), amaranth (stem), pumpkin, ash gourd, hyacinth bean, bottle gourd, yard long bean, sponge gourd, Indian spinach, ridge gourd, okra, bitter gourd, brinjal, kang kong, snake gourd, spinach, radish, mallow, broadleaf mustard, carrot, fat hen, French bean, rosel, winged bean), 5 fruits (papaya) and 12 other germplasm (dhaincha, jute, yam, egg fruit, coffee, and yam bean etc. Details of passport data of collected germplasm were recorded. The collected germplasm will be regenerated for characterization and preliminary evaluation. Proper statistical analysis will be adopted to identifying similarity/dissimilarity within the collection before long-term conservation.
