The experiment was conducted at the regional agricultural research station, Jashore field during Rabi 2019-20 to investigate the growth and yield performance of BARI Chola-10 as influenced by nipping practices at different growth stages. The experiment was conducted in a split-plot design. There were two factors in this experiment Factor A:  Various growth Phases of nipping (03), i) E1= 30 days after emergence ii) E2= 40 days after emergence iii) E3= 50 days after emergence, Factor B: Different heights of nipping practices (04): T1= Control, T2= Nipping 5 cm from the growing tip, T3= Nipping 8 cm from the growing tip, T4= Nipping 10 cm from the growing tip. Factor A was allocated in main plots and factor B was be allocated in subplots. The highest (1453.9 kg/ha) yield was found by E3T2 (nipping 05 cm from the growing tip after 50 days of sowing) interaction effect followed by E2T2 (nipping 05 cm from the growing tip after 40 days of sowing), E2T4 (nipping 10 cm from the growing tip after 40 days of sowing) and E2T3 (nipping 08 cm from the growing tip after 40 days of sowing) interaction respectively. On the other hand, the lowest (582.6 kg/ha) yield was found from E1T1 (control) interaction. The highest amount of vegetable yield (763.03 kg/ha) was recorded from E3T4 (nipping at 10 cm from the tip after 50 days of sowing) interaction. The highest total gross return (125392.2 t k/ha) and highest gross margin (97792 t k/ha) were found by E3T2 (nipping at 05 cm from the tip after 50 days of sowing) interaction effect. The highest (4.54) and lowest (1.7) BCR was recorded by E3T2 (nipping at 05 cm from the tip after 50 days of sowing) and E1T1 (control) interaction effect respectively. The highest amount of vegetable yield (763.03 kg/ha) was recorded from E3T4 (nipping at 10 cm from the tip after 50 days of sowing) interaction. To see the effect of nipping in growth and yield of chickpea

The experiment was conducted at the regional agricultural research station, Jashore field during Rabi 2019-20 to investigate the growth and yield performance of BARI chola-10 as influenced by nipping practices at different growth stages. There were two factors in this experiment: Factor A: Time of nipping (03), i) Growth Phages of nipping (03) i) E1= 30 days after emergence ii) E2= 40 days emergence iii) E3= 50 days after emergence, Factor B: Different heights of nipping practices (04): T1= Control, T2= Nipping 5 cm from the growing tip, T3= Nipping 8 cm from the growing tip, T4= Nipping 10 cm from the growing tip. Factor A was allocated in main plots and factor B was be allocated in subplots. The experiment was conducted in a split-plot design with three replications. Fertilizers were used in the broadcast method during final land preparation @ 20:40:20:10 NPKS kg/ha. Unit plot size was 6 rows x 4 m with spacing 50 cm x 10 cm. Seeds were sown in the field on 25 November 2019. Weeding, irrigation, and other intercultural operations were done when necessary. Data of different parameters were recorded from 10 plants of each unit plot and analyzed statistically.

Effect of sowing dates: Various growth phases of nipping showed significant variation among the parameters except for plant height. The highest plant/m2 (36), days to flower (63), pods/plant (28), branches/plant (3), Vegetable yield (410 kg/ha) was found from E3, E3, E2, E2, E3 phases, respectively. On the other hand, the lowest plant/m2 (20), days to flower (60), days to maturity (21), pods/plant (28), Vegetable yield (134 kg/ha) was found from E1 phase of nipping. The highest days to maturity (115), branches/plant (3) was found from E2 phase of nipping which is statistically similar to E3 phase of nipping. The lowest days to maturity (113), branches/plant (2) was found from E1 phase of nipping. The highest yield (1170.6 kg/ha) was found from E3 phase of nipping which is statistically similar to E2 phase of nipping. The lowest yield (678.8 kg/ha) was found from E1 phase of nipping. Effect of different heights of nipping: Different heights of nipping showed significant variation among the parameters except for plant height, pods/plant, and branches/plant. The highest days to flower (64), vegetable yield (476 kg/ha), yield (1171.5 kg/ha) were found from T4, T4 and T2 treatment, respectively. On the other hand, the lowest days to flower (58), vegetable yield (0.0 kg/ha), yield (909.1 kg/ha) was found from T1 treatment. The highest plant/m2 (31) was found from T4 treatment and the lowest (28) was found from T3 and T2 treatment. The highest days to mature (116) were found from T4 treatment which is statistically similar to T3 treatment and the lowest (112) was found from T1 treatment. Effect of different interaction: Interaction of various growth phases of nipping and different height of nipping of chickpea showed significant variation among the parameters except for plant height. The highest (40) plants/m2 was observed in E3T4 interaction which is statistically similar to E3T2 interaction (table 2.45) and the lowest plant/m2 was found by E1T2 interaction effect. The highest (66) and lowest (56) days to flower were observed by interaction effect E3T4 and E1T1, respectively. The highest days to maturity was recorded in E3T4 (117) interaction which was statistically similar to E2T4 interaction effect and the lowest (111) was found from E1T1 interaction. The highest pods/plant (31) was found from E3T2 interaction effect which is statistically similar to E3T3, E2T4, E2T3 and E2T2 interaction effect. The highest (763.03 kg/ha) vegetable yield was recorded from E3T4 (nipping 10 cm from the growing tip after 50 days of sowing) interaction effect and the lowest vegetable yield (0.00 kg/ha) was found from E1T1 (control), E2T1 (control) and E3T1 (control) interaction effect. The highest amount of grain yield (1453.9 kg/ha) was obtained in E3T2 (nipping at 05 cm from the tip after 50 days of sowing). The highest amount of vegetable yield (763.03 kg/ha) was recorded from E3T4 (nipping at 10 cm from the tip after 50 days of sowing) interaction. The highest (14.33) and lowest (2.77) BCR was recorded by E3T2 (nipping at 05 cm from the tip after 50 days of sowing) and E1T2 (control) interaction effect respectively.
