A field experiment was conducted at the research field of Pulses Research Centre, Regional Agriculture Research Station, Ishurdi, Pabna during 2018-19 and 2019-20 to find out the suitable fertilizer dose for grasspea relay cropping system with T.aman rice in High Ganges Floodplain soil. The trial consisted of six nutrient treatments such as T1 = Native (control), T2 = Farmers practice, T3 = FRG 2012, T4 = FRG 2012+Zn2.0, T5 = FRG 2012+B1.0, T6 = FRG 2012+Zn2.0+B1.The experiment was designed as a randomized complete block with three replications. Results showed that the application of different nutrient management proved effective in significantly enhancing the yield attributes and seed yield of grasspea. During 2018-19 and 2019-20, the maximum number of pods per plant and number of seeds per pod were recorded from the treatment T6 (FRG 2012+Zn2.0+B1) and T5 (FRG 2012+B1.) which was significantly different from the other treatments, but statistically identical to T4 (FRG 2012+Zn2.0) while it was lowest in control plot due to variation for nutrient supply. Maximum seed yield of grasspea was found treatment T6 (FRG 2012+Zn2.0+B1) followed by treatment T5 (FRG 2012+B1.0) in both the year.  Average of two years, regarding the cost and return analysis, the highest net return TK. 47800/ha was obtained from the treatment T6. The highest benefit-cost ratio of 1.98 was recorded from the treatment T6. Therefore, it may be concluded that treatment T6 (20-20-18-10-2-1 kg N-P-K-S-Zn-B/ha) is considered economically sound and optimum fertilizer dose for yield maximization of grasspea production relay with T.aman rice in High Ganges River Floodplain soil (AEZ # 11).

The experiment has been planned to find out the suitable fertilizer dose for grass pea relay cropping system with T.aman rice in High Ganges Floodplain soil (AEZ # 11).

The experiment was conducted at the research field of Pulses Research Centre, Regional Agriculture Research Station, Ishurdi, Pabna during 2018-19 and 2019-20 to find out the suitable fertilizer dose for grass pea relay cropping system with T.aman rice in High Ganges Floodplain soil. The initial soil samples were collected from the experimental plot from a depth of 0-15 cm and were analyzed in the laboratory following standard methods. Initial values of some important chemical parameters of the soil of the experimental field are presented in table 2.64. The trial consisted of eight nutrient treatments such as such as T1 = Native (control), T2 = Farmers practice, T3 = FRG 2012, T4 = FRG 2012+Zn2.0, T5 = FRG 2012+B1.0, T6 = FRG 2012+Zn2.0+B1.The experiment was designed as a randomized complete block with three replications. The unit plot size was 4m×3m. Nutrients N-P-K-S-Zn-B were supplied from Urea, TSP, MP, Gypsum, Zinc sulphate and Boric acid, respectively. All fertilizers should be applied broadcast before sowing. The variety was BARI Khashari 3. Grasspea was sown on the 5 November 2018 and 2 November 2019 as a relay with T.aman rice maintaining a seed rate of 60 kg/ha. Seeding was done with the broadcasting method. Intercultural operations were done as and when necessary. Grasspea was harvested on 25 February 2018 and 20 February 2019, respectively. Data on seed yield were collected from the whole plot and stover data were counted from 2 square meters but all the yield components namely: plant height, pod length, number of pods/plant, number of seeds /pod and 1000 seed weight were collected from ten plants selected randomly from each unit plot. Collected data were statistically analyzed through MSTAT-C package. Economic analyses were calculated. In this study, BCR was calculated for a hectare of land. Treatment-wise management cost was calculated by adding the cost incurred for labours and inputs for each treatment. The total yield after each harvest was calculated separately for every treatment and accumulated at the end of the final harvest. The total yield of each treatment was converted for determining yield (t/ha). This yield was utilized to calculate the gross return. This was measured by multiplying the total yield by the unit price of grasspea at that time. Net return was calculated by subtracting management cost from gross return. Chemical properties of post soil (0-5 cm depth) of the experimental field were observed. Soil pH, organic matter percentage and total N percentage were slightly increased after the crop was harvested.

Different nutrient management showed a significant effect on the yield and yield components of Grasspea in the year 2018-19 and 2019-20. The highest plant height was recorded from the treatment T4 which was significantly higher over the other treatments that were statistically identical to treatment, T5and T6in the year 2018-19 and 2019-20. The significant increase in plant height with these treatments might be due to a higher amount of nutrients. The pod length was recorded from treatment T5. The lowest values were obtained from the treatment T1 (Control). During both the year, the maximum number of pods per plant was recorded from the treatment T6 and T5 which was significantly different from the other treatments, but statistically identical to T4while it was lowest in T1 treatment. This might be due to variations in nutrient supply. Similar results were found in both the year. The highest number of seeds per pod was observed in T6followed by T5 and T4and the lowest value in T1treatment. The seed yield of grasspea was influenced significantly differ by different nutrient management practices in both years. During 2017-18 and 2018-19, maximum seed yield was found in the treatment T6and T5. This was significantly higher than the other treatments. The lowest yield was recorded from the control treatment. This might be due to that a higher amount of nutrients might have improved and developed a good root system of grasspea plants and the capacity of root to absorb more N, P and K. These findings are in agreement with the findings of Brahmachari et al. (2004 and 2008). Maximum stover yield was found from treatment T6 and T4 but lowest in the control plot. Average of two years seed yield, regarding the cost and return analysis, the maximum gross return Tk. 96750/ha was obtained from treatment T6 followed by treatment T5 and T4 during an average of two years. The highest benefit-cost ratio of 1.98 was recorded from the treatment T6. . The lowest net return was calculated from control (T1) treatment and the lowest benefit-cost ratio was counted from the control
