Bokto seeding technology was also evaluated during Boro 2010-2011 season. The field trial was conducted with BRRI dhan28 in Boro at BRRI HQ farm, Gazipur and seed rate was found 47 kg/ha. Seeding and fertilizer dispensing rate were also found uniform and placed at a proper depth. Crop yield was found to be 3.98 t/ha.

To evaluate the performance of Bokto Seeder in Bangladesh

FMPHT division in collaboration with the Agronomy division was working as a team for testing and evaluation of seeder for rice seeding. Field testing of Bokto seeder was arranged in BBRI HQ farm west side . Dry and sprouted seed of BRRI dhan 28 for Boro variety was used in the test. The sprouted seed was just shoot was seen. The Bokto seeder consists of 9 rows with seed, fertilizer and soil cover metering device. It had also monitoring device for missing indication of seed, fertilizer and covering materials. Seeder monitor send signal for any blockage in the seed delivery tube. A metallic round shaft was used for soil covering of the row. With this at machine, cereal seeding in row, deep and side banded placement of fertilizer (TSP and MP), seed covering (sand) and soil covering were done. BRRI recommended fertilizer doses for rice were used. Each seed box can hold up to 4.3 kg of rice dry seeds and 3.75kg of sprouted seeds. Capacity of each fertilizer box is 10 kg. Total capacity of seed covering box is 236 kg. The coarse sand was use for seed covering. The TSP and MP were mixed and used when sowing the seed.

The field operation of this machine was found satisfactory. Seeding of paddy in row, placement of fertilizer and sand coverage on seed in the field was uniform and at proper depth.
