The trial was conducted at Spices Research Centre, BARI Shibgonj, Bogra during rabi season of 2011-2012.Fifteen different fenugreek lines were evaluated in terms of their yield and yield contributing characters. Among the lines, FK012 produced the highest plant height, 1000 seed weight and seed yield (71.20 cm, 14.14 g and 1.65 t/ha respectively). The lowest yield was recoded in FK021 (0.90 t/ha).

Variety and Species
To evaluate fifteen different available fenugreek lines to select better performing one.
The study was conducted on fifteen lines of fenugreek lines at Spices Research Centre, BARI, Shibgonj, Bogra during rabi season of 2011-2012. The experiment was laid out in RCB Design with three replications. The unit plot size was 3m x 1.2m. The spacing used between lines and plants was 25cm x 10cm. The land was fertilized with cowdung, urea, TSP, MP and gypsum at the rate of 5 tons, 175, 175, 135 and 110kg /ha respectively. The entire quantity of cowdung, TSP, MP and gypsum were applied during final land preparation. Urea was applied in two equal splits at 20 and 40 days after sowing. The seeds were sown on 1st November 2011 and were harvested on 7th March 2012. Weeding, irrigation and other intercultural operations were done as per necessity. Data recorded were on plant height, primary branch/plant, pod/plant, seeds/pod, pod length, 1000 seed weight and seed yield.
Spice Research Report 2011-12
There were significant variations among the lines in respect of plant height (cm), pods/plant, 1000 seed wt and seed yield kg/ha. The highest yield was obtained from the lines FK012 (1.65 t/ha). The lowest yield was found in FK021 (0.90 t/ha). There are enough opportunities select line(s) for advance study and selection of variety (s) from the tested materials.
