Evaluation of Power Operated Japanese Rice Transplanter (ap-200) in Bangladesh

Abstract/ Executive Summary:

An experiment was conducted to observe the performance of Japanese rice transplanter in comparison with hand transplanting method in Boro season at BRRI farm. The working capacity (0.13 ha/hr) of Japanese Transplanter was 18.6 times higher than that of hand transplanting method. No significant yield difference was observed between the machine and hand planted fields.

Objectives:

To evaluate the field performance of Japanese rice transplanter compared to hand planting method

Methodology:

The salient features of the Japanese rice transplanter: Model: YANMAR AP 200 Weight (kg) : 77 Engine: 1.9 PS, 1600 rpm, No. of row : 2 Fuel (Petrol) consumption: 0.5 l/hr Row spacing (mm) : 300 Length (mm): 1570 No of operator : 1 Width (mm): 850 Seedling type : Raised in plastic tray Height (mm): 915 Two treatments were as follows: T1= Japanese transplanter T2= Hand transplanting The experiment was conducted in Boro season with BRRI dhan 28 variety at BRRI farm. The design of the experiment was RCB. The treatments were replicated thrice in blocks.
