The trial was conducted at Spices Research Centre, BARI Shibgonj, Bogra during rabi season 2012-2013 to evaluate different germplasm of coriander collected from different source and to identify the best germplasm with higher yield and other desirable characters. The experiment was laid out in RCB design with three replications. Thirteen different coriander germplasm (COR-002, COR-003, COR-004, COR-007, COR-008, COR-009, COR-010, COR-011, COR-012, COR-013, COR-014, COR-015 COR-016 and COR-017) were evaluated with BARI Coriander-1as check. Among the germplasm, significantly the highest plant height (113.0 cm) was obtained from COR011 and the lowest (75.27 cm) from BARI Coriander-1. Among the lines, COR014 produced the highest seed yield (1.30 t/ha). The lowest yield was recorded from COR011 (0.73 t/ha).The heaviest 1000 seed was found from COR08 (12.63 g) and the lowest (8.66 g) was found from COR011.

To evaluate ten available coriander lines in terms of yield and their yield attributes.
The evaluation trail was conducted at Spices Research Centre, BARI, Shibgonj, Bogra during rabi season of 2012-2013 to evaluate different germplasm of coriander collected from different source and to identify the best germplasm with higher yield and other desirable characters. The unit plot size was 3m x 1.5m. The spacing was 30cm x 10cm. The land was fertilized with cow dung at the rate of 5 t/ha and with, N70P25K50 kg/ha. The entire quantity of cow dung, P and K were applied during final land preparation. N was applied in two equal splits. One half of N was applied at 15 days after germination and the other half of N was applied in flowering stage followed by irrigation. The seeds were sown on 11 November 2012 and the crop was harvested on 20 and 30 March 2013. Weeding, irrigation and other intercultural operations were performed when as necessary. To escape coriander gall, the fungicide Cabriotop was applied 4 times @ 3g/liter of water at 15 days interval after the initiation of gall. Data on plant height, primary branch/plant, umbel/plant, umbel let /plant, seeds/plant, seeds weight/plant, 1000 seed weight and seed yield were recorded and analyzed by MSTAT-C software.
Annual Research Report 2012-13, Spice Research Center, BARI, Shibganj, Bogra
12,000/--
There was significant variations among the germplasm in respect of plant height, 1000 seed weight and seed yield (Table 1). The highest plant height (113.0 cm) was observed in COR011 which was identical to COR08 (106.9 cm). BARI Coriander-1 showed the lowest plant height (75.27 cm). Among the germplasm, COR014 produced the highest seed yield (1.30 t/ha) which was identical to COR02 (1.10 t/ha), COR09 (1.6 t/ha), COR010 (1.13 t/ha) and COR015 (1.04 t/ha). The highest 1000 seed weight (12.63 g) was produced from COR08 and the lowest (8.66 g) from COR011. There was no gall found in this study because of the application of Cabriotop. However, the germplasm COR02, COR09, COR10, COR014 and COR015 may be selected for advanced study.
