Among the tested materials, 10 materials showed resistant reaction against the most virulent isolate (BXO9) of BB pathogen in Bangladesh. The genotypes were: IR 70454-144-1-1-3-2, IR 73004-3-1-2-1, IR 73006-8-2-2-1, IR 73012-15-2-2-1, IR 76479-48-1-3-1, IR 76993-49-1-1, IR 78581-12-3-2-2, IR 78585-64-2-4-3, IR 78806-B-B-19-3-1-AJY 1 and IR 79233-1-2-1-2. Due to low germination of the seeds, only 30% entries were tested in this study.

To identify the resistant exotic genotypes against bacterial blight (BB).

Two hundred and twenty four INGER materials of the 22nd International Rice Bacterial Blight Nursery were received from IRRI and screened against BB (BXO9) in Plant Pathology Laboratory, BRRI, Gazipur. The plants were inoculated at the maximum tillering stage by leaf clipping method with BB isolate BXO9.
