Objectives:

To know the virulence diversity of Rhizoctonia oryzae-sativae isolates collected from different AEZs of Bangladesh.

Methodology:

Seeds of tested variety (BR11) were soaked overnight in water. Sprouted seeds were sown in wet seedbed. Standing water was removed from seedbed Thirty days old seedlings were transplanted having 2-3 seedlings per hill maintaining spacing 15 cm x 20 cm. Preparation of inoculam and inoculation: Pure culture of each isolate were grown on 9 cm PDA plate and incubated at ambient temperature for 5 days to allow approximately full plate growth. PDA plates with 5 days old inoculam were divided into 8 equal splits. Each portion of the PDA with mycelial plugs was inserted at the base of each hill. Each isolates were inoculated in every row intervals. For each isolates, nine rice plants were artificially inoculated in a randomized completely block design (RCBD).
