R. oryzae-sativae grew on PDA within the pH range of 3 to 10 with maximum growth at 6-8. Minimum growth were recorded at pH level 3-5. The growth of this fungus reduced at very strong acidic and alkaline pH. Abundant sclerotia were formed at pH level 7 while no sclerotia formed at pH level 3 & 4 after 4 days of inoculation

To know the effect of different pH on mycelial growth and sclerotia formation of Rhizoctonia oryzae-sativae

The selected medium, PDA was adjusted at different pH level with addition of Lactic acid and 10N NaOH before autoclave. The pH range was fixed with 3-10. Mycelial disks of 6mm diameter, were transferred from the margin of 4-day-old colonies at the centre of PDA plates, incubated at 27±2°C. 4 replicate plates were used for each treatment. Redial mycelial growth and sclerotial data measured.
