An experiment was conducted in BRRI farm, Gazipur to observe the performance of segregating populations under cold stress at reproductive stage during Boro'2011. Among the whole lot, 304 prominent hills were collected from whole crossing line for further evaluation.

To identify genotypes tolerant to cold stress at reproductive stage.
Seeds of F2 generation from different crossings were sown on 15 October, 2011. One month-old seedlings and 700 hills were transplanted for each crossing line. The seedlings were transplanted early with an intention to experience cold at the reproductive phase. Cultural practices and other management practices were done when necessary.

Plants with better phenotypic look and short duration were selected to grow in the next year for further selection. At maturity total 304 hills were collected from whole crossing line (Table 1).
