Five IPM treatments were evaluated against cutworm, Agrotis ipsilon (Hufner) at two different locations Joydebpur and Bogra during 2012-13.The experimental results indicated that the lowest number of damage tuber was recorded in T4 treatment(Sex pheromone+Furadan 5G during land preparation+ Furadan 5G before last irrigation)at both locations. More or less similar statistical trend was also observed in case of damage tuber percent by weight and percent of non- infested tuber (weight) at both locations.The yield of potato was maximum inT4 treated plot followed by T3 (T1 + Furadan 5G before last irrigation) both at Joydebpu and Bograr locations.

i) to find out alternative control measures and develop an IPM package
ii)to reduce the application of insecticides for controlling potato cutworm.
The experiment was conducted at two locations namely Joydebpur and Bogra following RCBD with three replications. The unit plot size was 3m x 3m maintaining spacing 60cm x 25cm. Fertilizer were used at per recommended doses . Irrigation was given twice. Five treatments were followed with untreated control as:
T1 = Sex pheromone mass trapping started at 15 DAP till to harvest.
T2 = T1 + Furadan 5G (Carbofuran) @ 20kg/h during land preparation
T3 = T1 + Furadan 5G (Carbofuran) @ 20kg/h before last irrigation
T4 = Sex pheromone mass trapping started at 15 DAP till to harvest + Furadan 5G (Carbofuran) @ 20kg/h during land preparation +Furadan 5G (Carbofuran) @ 20kg/h before last irrigation.
T5 = Farmer’s practice: at Joydebpur location- Furadan 5G (Carbofuran) @ 20kg/h during land preparation and urea topdressing. At Bogra location- Furadan 5G (Carbofuran) @ 20kg/h during land preparation + Morter 48 EC(Chlorpyriphos 48EC)@ 2ml/L of water, three times spray at 10 days interval and T6 = Control. Per cent of hill damage up to 45 days was recorded for damage at vegetative stage. After harvest data on the percent of tuber damage and non-infested tuber by number and weight and yield of tuber were collected and analyzed statistically.
