An experiment was conducted at Tuber Crops Research Centre, BARI, Gazipur to evaluate the effects of different non chemical and chemical treatments on sweetpotato weevil (Cylas formicarius) infestation. From the results, lowest percent of root infestation in weight basis (8.05%) and highest yield (7.47 ton/ha) was recorded in T1 (Pheromone trap (CIP lure) which was the best performance among the treatments and statistically similar with T2 (Pheromone trap (Ispahani lure) (8.88% and 7.42 ton/ha respectively). T6 (Vine dipping in diazinon 60 EC before planting and Spray diazinon 60 EC) and T4 (Hilling up the soil around the roots and fill up the soil cracks at 15 days interval) showed comparatively the better performance in terms of lower root infestation (16.42% and 16.98% respectively) and yield (6.59ton/ha and 6.36ton/ha respectively). The highest average number of male weevil caught in Ispahani lure was 58.1 where as CIP lure was 45.4.1.

Pest Management
To select the best bio-rationale to manage sweet potato weevil economically and in an environmental friendly way.
Seven treatments including untreated control were examined in field to determine the effect of weevil infestation on yield. Treatments were T1 (Pheromone traps (CIP) use at vegetative stage till harvest), T2 (Pheromone traps (Ispahani) use at vegetative stage till harvest), T3 (Apply neem oil cake at land preparation @ 1kg/plot and spray Nimbicidine 2.5 ml/Litre water at 15 days interval, T4 (Hilling up the soil around the roots and fill up the soil cracks at 15 days interval, T5 (Apply carbofuran 5G at land preparation and 45 DAS with irrigation @ 10kg/ha, T6 (Vine dipping in diazinon 60 EC @ 2.5 ml/Litre water at 20 minutes before planting and Spray diazinon 60 EC @ 2.5 ml/Litre water at 15 days interval, T7 (Untreated control). The percentage of infested roots in each plot was determined. The experiment comprising 7 treatments were replicated thrice following RCBD. Data were statistically analyzed and means were separated by DMRT.
