Several management packages were evaluated against pod borer damage in chickpea at Regional Agricultural Research Station, Rahmatpur, Barisal during Rabi 2012-13. IPM package comprising of sex pheromone trapping of adult moths + spraying of Spinosad 45 SC @ 0.4 ml /L of water revealed the best performance reducing 84.69% pod damage over control and offering significantly the highest yield (1895 kg/ha).Consequently, the highest marginal benefit cost ratio (1.74) was obtained from this package.

To evaluate effective IPM package against pod borer attacking chickpea.
Experiment was conducted at the Regional Agricultural Research Station, Rahmatpur, Barisal, Bangladesh during Rabi season of 2012-13. Application of different biorationals and insecticides are considered as treatments of the experiments which were: T1= Pheromone trap + Spraying of Bt @ 0.4 g/litre of water, T2 = Pheromone trap + Spraying of Spinosad 45 SC (Tracer)@ 0.4 ml/litre of water, T3 = Farmer's practice : Spraying Chlorpyrifos + Cypermethrin (Nitro 505 EC) @ of 2 ml/liter of water (First spray at 100% pod forming stage and second one after 10 days of the first spray) and T4 = Untreated control. The experiment was laid out in randomized complete block design (RCBD) with four replications. The treatments were randomly allotted in each block. The damaged (bored) and total numbers of pods were counted and the percent pod damage was determined.
