A total of nine fungicides and a check ‘Dithane M 45’ were tested against leaf blight of Panikachu at Joydebpur during 2011 at kharif season. All the tested fungicides reduced the disease significantly over control. The fungicide namely Pafman 75 wp showed the highest reduction of disease (79.49%) followed by Adcarzeb 75 wp (75.86%) and Herizeb 80 wp (73.03%) when compared to check ‘Dithane M-45’.

Pest Management
To find out the effctive fungicides against the leaf blight disease of Panikachu
Panikachu sucker was planted at Joydebpur on 16 March 2011. The unit plot size was 3.0 x 1.8 m and spacing was 60 x 45 cm and replicated three times. The crop was fertilized at the rate of 10 tons of cow dung, (N: P2O5: K2O: S @ 70:25:90:20 Kg/h) per hectare. A total of nine fungicides viz. Newben 72 wp, Adhunik Gold 72 wp, Dewthane 80 wp, Adcarzeb 75 wp, Herizeb 80 wp, Pafman 75 wp, Acrobat MZ, Debtacyl 72 wp and Krilaxyl 72 wp and a check namely Dithane M-45 were used in the trial and applied at the same dosage @ 0.2% for all fungicides. One control treatment was also maintained in the trial. The spraying was started just after initiation of the disease symptom. The crop was sprayed at 10 days interval. Data on percent foliage infection and stolon yield were recorded. The harvesting of stolon was started from 30 June 2011 and continued up to 15 September 2011. Data were analyzed statistically.
