Regional Yield Trial with Ol-kachu Lines

Abstract/ Executive Summary:

Two advanced olkachu lines viz. OK 001 and OK 002 along with a local cultivar were evaluated at Joydebpur, Jamalpur, Jessore and Pahartali during April to October 2011. The yield was highest in OK 002 (48.39 t/ha) followed by OK 001 (40.881t/ha).

Methodology:

The trials were conducted at Joydebpur, Jamalpur, Jessore and Pahartali from April to October of 2011. Two advanced olkachu lines viz. OK 001 =Satkhira and OK 002 =Madrazi were evaluated for releasing variety. The crop was planted on 02 -10 April 2011 following randomized complete block design with seven replications at the mentioned locations. The unit plot size was 3 m × 3 m and spacing was 60 cm × 60 cm. The crop was fertilized with a dose of 200-125-175 kg/ha of urea-TSP-MOP, respectively. Half of MOP and full dose of TSP were applied in plot during final land preparation. Rest of MOP and half of urea were top dressed at 60 DAP and the rest half of urea was applied at 100 DAP. Other intercultural operations like weeding, earthing up, irrigation, drainage etc. were done as and when necessary. The crop was harvested on 20 - 30 October 2011. Data were collected on growth, yield contributing characters and yield and were analyzed statistically.
