A survey was made to record the common scab disease incidence in 10 major potato growing districts of Joydebpur, Bangladesh. The disease prevailed in all the locations, ranged 9.0-31.6% having mean common scab value of 18.96%. Considering the mean value on frequency of occurrence of different scab symptoms, shallow pitted scab scored highest incidence (50.13%) followed by deep pitted (27.81%), superficial (15.23%) and netting scab (6.82%). In the Northern part of Bangladesh scab infection range was 10%-43%. The highest (43%) infection was found at BSPC, Debiganj and lowest was in BRAC, farm Birol.

To record the incidence and prevalence of common scab of potato in 10 major potato growing districts of Bangladesh and in the Northern part of Bangladesh adjacent to Debiganj .
Survey on scab incidence and frequency of different scab symptoms were assessed from 10 major potato growing districts of Bangladesh. The districts were: Bogra, Gaibandha, Gazipur, Jessore, Joypurhat, Kurigram, Lalmonirhat, Nilphamari, Rajshahi and Rangpur. Ten to 15 fields (Samples) from sadder Upazilla of each district were selected for assessing prevalence of scab incidence except Gazipur where research fields included under the study. One hundred tubers were taken randomly, five times from each field. Data were taken on scab incidence, categorized based on different scab symptoms and finally expressed in percentage.
In Northern part adjacent to Debiganj, survey on the prevalence of common scab disease of potato was conducted at BSPC, Debiganj, BADC Farm Domar, Seed production Farm of BRAC, Berol, 7 farmers field of Debiganj, Panchagarh and 3 farmers field of Domar, Nilphamari, during 15th February to 15th March, 2010.
