All the tested treatments reduced black scurf affected tubers over control. The minimum percent by weight of black-scurfed tuber of 5.44 was recorded by PR + seed treatment with Bavistin (0.1%) followed by PR + soil drenching with Vitavex (0.2%). Highest tuber yield was recorded in PR + soil drenching with Bavistin (0.1%) treated plot (22.63 t/ha) followed by PR+ seed treatment with Bavistin (21.47 t/ha).

To find out suitable combination of treatment as seed and soil drenching in controlling the disease
The experiment was conducted at TCRC, Joydebpur, Gazipur using infected seed tubers of variety Diamant. There were seven treatments viz, Poultry refuse (PR), PR + seed treatment with borax (3.0%), PR + seed treatment with Vitavex (0.2%), PR + soil drenching with Vitavex (0.2%), PR + seed treatment with Bavistin (0.1%), PR + soil drenching with Bavistin (0.1%) and control. Soil drenching was done after 35 days of planting. Data on plant emergence, black scurf infection and tuber yield were collected and analyzed statistically.
