The experiment was carried out in the laboratory of Lac Research Station. Kallyanpur Chapai Nawabgonj during November 2012 to February 2013 for testing the effectiveness of some management approaches against lac predator, Pseudohypatopa pulverea in stroage. Results indicated that aluminium phosphide fumigation @ one fourth tablet/5kg of lac for 1 and 2 day reduced 100% Pseudohypatopa pulverea population over control. Sun drying for 2 days was also found effective and reduced 95% predator population over control. The highest recovery of seed lac form stored lac (59%) was also obtained from aluminium phosphide fumigation @ one fourth tablet/5kg of lac treatment up to 90 days of storage.

Testing the effectiveness of some physical and chemical control approaches to keep the stick lac safe in storage from predator.
The experiment was carried out in the Laboratory for testing the effectiveness of some physical and chemical control approaches to keep the stick lac safe in storage at Lac Research station. Kallyanpur Chapai Nawabgonj during November 2012 to February 2013 with 7 treatments and 3 replications following randomized complete block design. Three sets of experiments (one set for 30 days, 2nd set for 60 days and 3rd set for 90 days) were conducted in the laboratory. In each set, the treatments were as follows : T1= storage followed by sun drying of stick lac for 2 days; T2 = storage of stick lac followed by treated with aluminium phosphide tablet @ one-fourth/5kg of lac for 1 day; T3 = storage of stick lac followed by treated with aluminium phosphide tablet @ one-fourth tablet/5 kg of lac of 2 days; T4 = storage of stick lac followed by treated with naphthalene @ one tablet/5 kg of lac; T5 = storage of stick lac followed by treated with neem leaf dust @ 5g/kg lac ; T6 = storage of stick lac followed by neem leaf dust @ 10g/kg lac; and T7 = storage of untreated stick lac. The number of larva and pupa of P. Pulverea in 250g replicated sample from stored lac were recorded in set-I at 10 days interval up to 30 days. The weight of stick lac and seed lac (semi refined stick lac) was recorded. In set-II, the treatments were same as set-I and the number of larva and pupa of P. Pulverea in 250g replicated sample were recorded at 10 days interval up to 60 days. The weight of stick lac and seed lac was recorded.
