Survey was conducted in 3 locations viz. Gazipur, Dhaka and Mymensingh during May to June 2013 to identify and document the commonly used pesticides in stored grain of Govt. godowns. It was observed that three types of grain such as rice, wheat and paddy were stored in Govt. godowns. Among them rice occupied the highest position of stored grain followed by wheat. Pirimiphos methyl (Actellic 50EC) @ 20ml/L of water at an interval of 1-2 months and Aluminium phosphide 57% (Phostoxin) @ 4 tablets/ton grain at an interval of 1 week to 3 months were used as protective measures in all locations. Grains were distributed for consumers 1 to 20 days after pesticide use.

Pest Management
1. To generate information on chemicals used for controlling stored grain insect pests at farm level.
2. To know the toxicity level of chemicals used in stored products
The survey was conducted in 3 locations such as Gazipur, Dhaka and Mymensingh during May to June 2013. To document the insecticide usage pattern on stored grain pest in GO godowns. Govt. officials in each location were interviewed during the year 2013 using objective oriented questionnaire to identify how many godown with their capacity, types of grain stored in godown, major insect pests, preventive and protective measures were taken, commonly used insecticides with their frequency, doses, interval of application and any residual test before delivery of grain. Stored grain samples were collected from each location and preserved in Toxicology laboratory, Entomology Division for residue analysis.
