Adaptation of Ring System in the Spingard Spinning Machine and Performance Analysis of the Machine for Production of Jute Yarn.

Abstract/ Executive Summary:

Comprehensive study on centrifugal spinning frame and ring spinning frame were done and a decision has been take about the machine parameters of proposed modified machine such as flyer speed, ring diameter, traveller no etc. Sliver for the machine has produced by using intersecting gilling machine and yarn was spun by existing spingard machine as well as ring spinning machine and textile properties are found satisfactory. Due to some technical problem the spingard machine was not converted into ring system, instead of that the experiment was conducted at apron draft ring spinning machine.

Objectives:

Development of a technology for the production of better quality fine jute yarn by using drafting zone of spingard spinning machine. Jute

Methodology:

The spingard machine is a centrifugal type of spinning where spinning function conducted through centrifugal force. In ring spinning the function is conducted through ring and traveller. There are 4 rails in the machine, each rail contains 10 spindles. For this experiment one rail will be converted into ring system. In this conversion only drafting zone of the spingard machine will be used because the machine consists an improved drafting system with a long drafting zone. Literature review in this regard has been done and a comparison between centrifugal spinning and ring spinning has determined. However in this experiment for production of fine yarn, sliver was prepared by intersecting gilling machine instead of conventional 3rd drawing machine. Some sliver were prepared in this regard, yarn produced through the existing spingrad machine as well as apron draft ring spinning machine and their characteristics were studied.

Achievement/Findings:

Yarns were spun through existing spingard frame and modified ring spinning frame. It is shown from the experiments textile properties of yarn through spingard machine is comparatively better than that of yarn produced through apron draft spinning machine. It indicates that improved drafting system has potential impact on yarn producing.
