To develop regeneration ability of Porteresia coarctata (Uri/Dhansi)

The wild rice of Porteresia coarctata (Uri/Dhansi) was used in the study. The shoots tips, stem and rhizomes were surface sterilized with 0.5% Clorox solution for 15 minutes, then washed for 5-6 times with sterilized water. After washing, the explants were cultured on the MS medium supplemented with various combinations of hormones and the regenerated shoots were recorded.

The regeneration percentage of rhizomes (Uri/Dhansi) was higher when MS + 5.0 gm/1 and 0.5 mg/1 NAA.
