In this experiment, F3 segregating generation of 6 cross combinations i.e. Lalshachi x BJC-2142, C-3 X BJC-2142, Lalshachi x BJC-718, BJC-718 x CVL-1, BJC-2142 x CVL-1, C-1 x BJC-2142 of white jute were raised in the field at JAES, Manikganj having 2 lines of 1.5m long row per cross combination to select recombinant blue seeded lines. One to three plants were selected from most of the F3 families in respect of response of disease and growth habit.

Creation of new variability and development of recombinant blue seeds lines.

In this experiment, F3 segregating generation of 6 cross combinations i.e. Lalshachi x BJC-2142, C-3 X BJC-2142, Lalshachi x BJC-718, BJC-718 x CVL-1, BJC-2142 x CVL-1, C-1 x BJC-2142 of white jute were raised in the field at JAES, Manikganj having 2 lines of 1.5m long row per cross combination. Data were recorded on dates of sowing, emergence, first and average flowering, disease score, morphological characters like pigmentation, leaf shape, distinguish characters. From these materials desired recombinants were selected for breeding snow white fibre and disease resistant varieties.
