All the tested fungicides reduced the disease significantly over control. Among them, Agrimil showed best performance (75.38% reduction) followed by Agrithane (73.60%) and Logon (72.83%). Highest foliage infection (74.28 %) was recorded in control treatment and it was lowest in Agrimil (18.29%).

To screen some newly introduced fungicides against leaf blight disease of Panikachu at Joydebpur

The experiment was conducted to screen some newly introduced fungicides against leaf blight disease of Panikachu at Joydebpur.. The unit plot size was 3.0 m x 1.8 m and spacing was 60 cm x 45 cm and replicated three times. The crop was fertilized at the rate of 5 tons of cow dung, (N: P2O5: K2O: S @ 70:25:90:20 kg/ha) per hectare. Dithane M-45 (0.2%), Kafa (0.2%), Agrithane (0.2%), Bazimat (0.2%), Agrimil (0.2%) and Emikit 50 WC (0.2%) were used in the trial. The spraying was started just after initiation of the disease symptom. The crop was sprayed at 12 days interval. Data on percent foliage infection and stolon yield were recorded. One control treatment was also maintained in the trial. The panikachu sucker was planted at Joydebpur on 07.05.2008. The harvesting of stolon was started from 5 August 2008 and continued up to 15 September 2008. Data were analyzed statistically.
