Six TPS progenies introduced from CIP along with BARI TPS- 1 and Diamant as check were evaluated for their yield potentiality and tuber characters at Joydebpur during 2009-10 cropping season. The mean yield ranged from 24.70-39.74 t/ha. The highest yield was observed in Check variety BARI TPS-1. Apart from check variety BARI TPS 1, MF-I x TS-15 (34.50 t/ha) gave higher yield among the six TPS progenies.

To identify TPS progenies suitable for Bangladesh

The experiment was conducted at Joydebpur during the Rabi season, 2008-09. Six TPS progenies introduced from CIP and BARI TPS 1 and Diamant as check were included in this study. The experiment was laid out in RCB design with three replications. The unit plot size was 3 m x 3 m. The whole tuber produced in the last year was planted with a spacing of 60 × 25 cm.  Fertilizers were applied @ 325-220-250-120 kg/ha of Urea, TSP, MP and Gypsum respectively. Data were taken on plant height, number of stem per plant, foliage coverage at 60 DAP, number of tuber per plant, wt. of tuber per hill, tuber yield per plant and yield per plot, dry matter, tuber shape, colour, % grading by number & weight.
