Five sweet potato germplasm along with BARI SP-6 and BARI SP-7 were tested at Patuakhali, Satkhira, Noakhali and Joydebpur during 2009-10. The mean yield of four locations SP-213 yielded highest (20.87 t/ha) followed by SP-271 (20.34 t/ha) and the lowest mean yield was observed SP-264 (15.54 t/ha). Considering the mean yield of four locations SP-213, SP-271, SP-498 and SP-560 germplasm may be selected for further trial.

To find out sweet potato varity especially for saline area.

The experiment was conducted in farmers field of Joydebpur, Patuakhali, Satkhira and Noakhali saline areas during the winter season of 2009-10. Seven sweet potato germplsm/variety were included in the study. Vines were planted on 10th December, 2009 in the field having a plot size 3.0 x 3.0 m and replicated thrice following RCBD. Manures and fertilizers were applied @ 10 tons cowdung, 140 kg Urea, 80 kg TSP and 150 kg MP per hectare. Crop was harvested on 11th April, 2010. Data on phenotypic characters yield and yield contributing characters were recorded from 10 randomly selected plants.
