Sixteen CIP clones were tested at Joydebpur for evaluation of phenotypic and yield contributing characters. The highest dry yield (6.79 t/ha) was obtained by CIP 440025, followed by CIP 440267.2 (6.75 t/ha) and the lowest dry yield CIP 400917 (2.90 t/ha). There fore eight CIP clones, which gave higher marketable yield and dry yield. Considering the yield and yield contributing other factors eight CIP clones namely, CIP 440025, CIP 440034, CIP 190083.9, CIP 441132, CIP 194513.15, CIP 194515.15, CIP 440267.2 and CIP 194573.9 were selected for next year advanced yield trial evaluation.

To select the high carotene and high dry matter containing sweet potato clones

The experiment was conducted at Joydebpur during 2009-10. Sixteen CIP clones were included in the study. Vines of clones were planted on 27th November, 2009 in the field having a plot size 3.0 x 3.0 m and replicated thrice following randomized block design. The crop was fertilized with recommended doses. The crop was harvested on 28th April, 2010. Data on phenotypic characters, yield and yield contributing characters were recorded from 10 randomly selected plants.

Considering the yield and yield contributing other factors eight CIP clones namely, CIP 440025, CIP 440034, CIP 190083.9, CIP 441132, CIP 194513.15, CIP 194515.15, CIP 440267.2 and CIP 194573.9 were selected for next year advanced yield trial evaluation.
