On Farm Yield Trial of Two Advanced Lines of Tossa Jute.

Abstract/ Executive Summary:

The experiment were undertaken in Manikganj,Rangpur,Faridpurand Kishoreganj stations of BJRI at 2007 following RCBD. The yield performance of the line O-3820 gave higher yield at all farmer's field compared to the control O-9897.Pooled mean also observed that the line O-2679 gave 25.27% higher yield than the control variety o-9897 at farmer's field.

Objectives:

To evaluate the yield and adaptability of two advanced lines at farmers field in different regions as well as on stations

Methodology:

One plot of 10 decimals will be divided into two equal halves; between them 5 decimals will be used for O-2679 and-9897 and the seeds of both varieties will be sown on 30th March.Equal quality of seed of the varieties would be sown and equal number of plants would be maintained for the varieties. Intercultural operation would be done in time simultaneously for whole plots as per recommendation.The plots must be located preferably at roadside. The sown plots will be harvested 120 days sowing,respectfully.
