There was no information of fertilizer requirement for the production of jute seed through seedlings method. Therefore, an attempt was carried out to observe the fertilizer requirements by seedling transplanting method for seed production at Jute seed production and Research Center, Dinajpur, BJRI. The test variety was O-9897. From the results it was observed that the highest but statistically identical seed yield was obtained from T4 ( 50-10-25-10-04-02 NPKSZnB Kg/ha), T5 (75-10-25-10-04-02NPKSZnB Kg/ha), and T14 (50-10-25-10-08-04NPKSZnB Kg/ha), treatments. But the plant height, number of pod per plant was recorded highest by the treatment T4. Among the treatment T4, T5 and T14, number of seeds per pod also found in treatment T4. It was also remarkable that there were no significant effect of boron and zinc in relation to seed yield that might be due to presence of sufficient amount of these elements in the soil of Dinajpur.

1.To know the fertilizer requirement of seedling transplanting technique for jute seed production.

2.To increase seed production in relation to quality and quantity.

3.To improve soil health.

Quality seed is one of the prerequisite for obtaining maximum yield potentiality of crop. Fertilizer recommendation has already been made for late jute seed production but there was no recommendation for producing jute seed through transplanting method. So, an experiment was conducted in RCBD with 14 selective treatments of NPKSZnB having three replications for jute seed production through seedling transplanting methods for the variety O-9897. The unit plot size was 3.0m x 3.0m with one meter space between the blocks, plots and around the field. There were 20cm deep drain around each plot, block and around whole plot to drain out excess rain water. The treatments were:(N-P-K-S-Zn-B Kg/ha)- T1: 00-00-00-00 T2: 00-10-25-10-04-02 T3: 25-10-25-10-04-02 T4: 50-10-25-10-04-02 T5: 75-10-25-10-04-02 T6: 50-00-25-10-04-02 T7: 50-15-25-10-04-02 T8: 50-10-00-10-04-02 T9: 50-10-50-10-04-02 T10: 50-10-25-00-04-02 T11: 50-10-25-15-04-02 T12: 50-10-25-10-00-02 T13: 50-10-25-10-04-00 T14: 50-10-25-10-08-04 At the time of final land preparation all other fertilizer except urea were applied as basal. Urea fertilizer were applied in three equal splits. One dose at 20 days after transplanting (DAT), one dose at 45 DAT and the rest one before the stage of flowering.

Among nutrients, NPKS is enough for late jute seed production in Dinajpur soil and there is no need to include boron or zinc fertilizer as there was found no significant effect of these micronutrients in late jute seed production. Anyway 50-10-25-10 NPKS Kg/ha may be a suitable combinational dose for late jute seed production for the variety O-9897 by seedling transplanting method.
