Chlorophyll content and distribution in plant's leaves is an important index in estimation of plant nutrition information. Chlorophyll is one of the antioxidant compounds which are stored in the chloroplast of green leaf plants. Normally it has been found in the area of green leaves, stems, flowers and roots. Chlorophyll A is the primary pigment related to the photosynthesis action in plants and produces the energy for plants. The other pigments are known as accessory pigments. Chlorophyll A contents are 2-3 times higher than the level of chlorophyll B. The objective of this study is to assess relationships among yield, chlorophyll and bio-molecule contents in tea.

To establish a relationship among yield, chlorophyll and bio-molecule contents in tea.

Tea samples were collected randomly in order to assess chlorophyll and carotene contents. The average yield of tea was also determined. Afterwards, a relationship was established among yield, chlorophyll and bio-molecule contents in tea.

The study revealed that the ranges of chlorophyll and bio-molecule contents were found to be 0.177 to 0.4188 mg/l and 23.736 to 91.123 mg/l respectively. Both the chlorophyll and carotene contents have got no relation with the yield of crop.
