Performance of 19 F1C4 genotypes was evaluated with check variety Cardinal. Among the genotypes 5 hybrid clones gave 20% more yield over check variety cardinal. Outstanding performance was exhibited by the genotype 5.90 followed by 6.128, 5.22, 5.183, 5.13 and 5.28 indicating 31.66%, 30.24%, 22.93%, 22.20% and 19.16 more yield over check variety cardinal.

To select superior genotypes for variety development

This study was carried out at BSPC, Debigonj, Panchagarh with 19 genotypes and one check (Cardinal). The seeds were sown on 27.11.08. The unit plot size was 3.0 x 3.0m. Whole tubers were planted with a spacing of 60x 25 cm. Fertilizers were applied @ 325-220-250-120kg/ha of urea, triple super phosphate, muriate of potash and gypsum, respectively. Design was RCB with three replications. Data were taken on plant vigor, plant height, number of stem per plant, number of tuber per plant, tuber yield per plant and yield per plot.
