Twenty four hybrid clones of potato were evaluated during 2008-09 crops season at Debigonj and Joydebpur. All the hybrid clones performed better than our check varieties, Diamant and Cardinal. Mean yield of clones ranged 26.30-46.48 t/ha.

To select superior genotypes for variety development

Twenty four hybrids clones (13 at Joydebpur and 23 at Debigonj) along with Cardinal and Diamant as check were planted during 2008-09 in RCB design with four replications. The unit plot size was 3m x 3m. Whole tubers were planted with a spacing of 60 x 25cm. Planting was done on 21st November, 2008. Fertilizers were applied @ 325-220-250-120 kg/ha of urea, TSP, MP and gypsum, respectively. Necessary intercultural operations were done as per TCRC recommendation. The crop was harvested at 90 DAP.
