Three hybrid clones and one CIP germplasm along with check Diamant, Cardinal and Granola were evaluated at six locations during 2008-09 in RYT. Considering yield and other characters of five locations 3.25 and 3.4 hybrid clones may be released after verifications in the farmers fields.

To select best performing clones to release as a variety

Three hybrid clones viz. 1.25, 3.25, 3.4 and one CIP germplasm V4, along with Diamant, Cardinal and Granola as a check were evaluated during 2008-09 at six locations namely; Joydebpur, Munshigonj, Bogra, Jamalpur, Jessore and Debigonj in RCB design with three replications. Diamant and Cardinal used as check in Joydebpur and Munshigonj, where as Diamant and Granola used as check in other locations. The unit plot size was 3m x 3m, whole tubers of BSPC, Debigonj source was planted with a spacing of 60 cm x 25 cm. Planting was done during November 19 to December 1, 2008. Fertilizers were applied @ 325-220-250-120 kg/ha of Urea, TSP, MP and Gypsum respectively. Necessary intercultural operations were done as per TCRC recommendation. The crop was visited by the technical committee of NSB (National Seed Board) two times and harvested at 65 DAP (Days after Planting) one or two line per plot and rest at 90 DAP in presence of them. Data on yield, yield contributing characters and tuber grading were taken, analyzed statistically followed DMRT.
