The experiment was conducted on eleven segregating lines derived from diallel crosses at Central Experiment Station, Manikgannj. Comparative study of these lines showed that plant height and base diameter of all the materials were similar to each other. The results indicated that two lines C-2262 and C-2309 showed similarities with the check varieties CC-45 and CVE-3 and other five lines showed similar response like CVE-3. The performances of these lines have yet to be tested.

To develop varieties with short day insensitivity and low temperature tolerance.

The experiment was conducted on eleven segregating lines derived from diallel crosses at Central Experiment Station, Manikgannj.Seeds were sown in randomized complete block design. Data were recorded on dates of sowing, germination, first and average flowering and harvest.Also recorded on distinguishing morphological characters of the selected plants in each cross with special reference to a. flowering b. pigmentation c. leaf capoy size and shape. d. plant height. e. base diameter. f. flowering to fruiting time. g. seed quality and h. tolerance to low temperature, pest and diseases under field condition.
