Development of Recycling Device for Minimization of Wastes of Yarn at the Time of Pmd Measurement of Jute Yarn.

Abstract/ Executive Summary:

The experiment was conducted during the year 2000-2001 at Bangladesh Jute Research Institute Dhaka, Jute Waste Processing Department to developed of recycling device for minimization of jute waste of yarn and PMD measurement of jute yarn. An auxiliary device for yarn pulling through the rest capacitor of the existing PMD meter of BJRI was designed and fabricated. The machine will save the yarn from being wasted after PMD measurement and will preserve the sample so that scientist wood be able to repeat his measurement again and again. The machine could also be used for making a single spool from a hang of yarn if needed. PMD of three sets of yarn samples were performed with PMD meter using the newly devised auxiliary machine for yarn pulling and the results were found within the PMD range measured by professor D.F. Leach. We have been trying our best to eliminate this defect and the whole system will be well operated after elimination of this short of fault.It is hoped that the machine will be smooth running and well operated day by day and will serve the purpose of yarn pulling through and preservation of sample after PMD measurement.

Objectives:

To minimize the wastes of yarn and preservation of the yarn sample at the time of PMD measurement of jute yarns.

Methodology:

The experimental procedure for the year 2000 involved the following sequences: a) Procurements of raw materials, b) Fabrication of mechanical system, c) Fabrication electrical control panel, d) Optimization of machine parameters. Procurements of raw materials for machine and electrical systems were performed by tender and other materials were purchased from local market for wood works. Then the mechanical system was fabricated and fitted and made running by full time supervision. Similarly the electrical panel was fabricated from a electrical farms and optimization of some mechanical and electrical parameter were partially done within the year 2000.

Achievement/Findings:

PMD of three sets of yarn samples were performed with PMD meter using the newly devised auxiliary machine for yarn pulling and the results were found within the PMD range measured by professor D.F. Leach. We have been trying our best to eliminate this defect and the whole system will be well operated after elimination of this short of fault. So, in near future, the system will health to estimate approximately accurate value of yarn mass variability of jute yarn given information for production of better quality of yarn as well as fabrics.
