Advanced Yield Trail of Some Breeding Lines of Tossa Jute (2005)

Abstract/ Executive Summary:

The experiment were carried out at Manikganj,Kishoreganj,Faridpur ,Chandina,Rangpur and Patuakhali stations.The advanced line Acc-4327, Ped-11/95-2, OM-2 and check OM-1 and O-9897 were sown in Manikganj,Kishoreganj,Faridpur ,Chandina and Rangpur stations in 15-03-2005 following RCBD.Highest fiber yield was observed in ped-11/95-2(3.57t/ha)at Chandina . The line Acc-4327 gave highest performance in Chandina(3.41t/ha). Pooled mean revealed that ped-11/95-2(3.57t/ha) gave higher yield(2.24t/ha)among all the tested lines .OM-2 gave higher yield than the control O-9897 and OM-1.

Objectives:

1.To assess the yield,adaptability and suitability under different agronomical traits

Methodology:

The materialsAcc-4327, Ped-11/95-2, OM-2 (a natural mutant selected from OM-1) , check OM-1 and O-9897 were used and sown in the Manikganj,Kishoreganj,Faridpur ,Chandina,Rangpur and Patuakhali stations of BJRI at 15-03-2005 .The experiment was laid out in RCBD with three replications having 4.5m X 3.0m plot size. Standard agricultural and agronomic practices were followed.The crop were harvested 120 days after sowing and collecting necessary data.Neccesary data were collected(plant height,base diameter,plant population,fiber weight and stick weight).
