To Change the Feed Weight of Breaker Card Machine and to See the Effect on Fibre Length and Yarn Quality.

Abstract/ Executive Summary:

Three different dollop weight 24 lbs, 36 lbs and 48 lbs were chosen to see the effect of load variation on B/card machine on fiber and yarn quality. This time two quality of fibers BWC and BWE were processed with chosen dollop weights through B/card machine and carded sliver were then fed to finisher card in such a way that the delivery of sliver from F/card were same per unit length for each dollop weight sample. The results of the three sets of yarns indicate that 36 lbs dollop weight yarn is better in terms of strength and quality ratio than those of the other two types of yarns and co-efficient of variation of strength is also within the normal limit.

Methodology:

As before three different dollop weight 24 lbs, 36 lbs and 48 lbs were chosen to see the effect of load variation on B/card machine on fibre and yarn quality. This time two quality of fibres BWC and BWE were processed with chosen dollop weights through B/card machine and carded sliver were then fed to finisher card in such a way that the delivery of sliver from F/card were same per unit length for each dollop weight sample. Next subsequent processes were same for each sample. Yarns of 6 lbs and 8 lbs/spy were spun from each sample in Apron draft spinning frame and were tested.

Achievement/Findings:

The results of the three sets of yarns indicate that 36 lbs dollop weight yarn is better in terms of strength and quality ratio than those of the other two types of yarns and co-efficient of variation of strength is also within the normal limit. Previous experimental results and this year's experimental results also indicate that 36 lbs dollop weight is the suitable dollop weight for standard jute yarn i.e hessian warp and weft for jute industry. So, proper dollop weight is a pre-requisite condition for good quality yarn and making of proper morah is very much essential to maintain proper dollop weight. In this experiment we strictly maintain the required weight and size of each morah.
