Abstract/ Executive Summary:

The experiment was carried out at Manikganj,Chandina,Kishoreganj,Faridpur and Rangpur stations in 2005.The variety BJRI tossa pat-4(O-72)gave higher performance at Chandina,Faridpur, Kishoreganj and Rangpur stations in respect of fiber yield but lower in Manikganj.BJRI tossa pat-4(O-72) gave highest yield in Chandina(3.35t/ha) compared to Indian variety.

Objectives:

To compare yield performance of BJRI tossa pat-4(O-72) and Indian variety Indian variety under different agro-ecological condition of Bangladesh

Methodology:

The experiment were undertaken in Manikganj,Chandina,Kishoreganj,Faridpur and Rangpur stations of BJRI at 2005 following RCBD .A plot of 14.5 meters will be used for BJRI tossa pat-4(O-72) and same size other for Indian variety.The seeds of both varieties will be sown on 15th March 2005.Equal quality of seed of both varieties would be sown and equal number of plants would be maintained for the varieties. Intercultural operation would be done in time simultaneously for whole plots as per recommendation.The plots must be located preferably at roadside. The sown plots will be harvested after 120 days of sowing.
