Preliminary Yield Trail of Some Anatomically Selected Early Maturing Genotypes of Tossa Jute (2004)

Abstract/ Executive Summary:

The experiment was carried out in JAES, Manikganj in 2004.The lines Acc-2812) and Acc-2863 gave higher performance at Manikganj stations in respect of fiber yield than O-9897 in the sowing of 17.03.2004.Highest plant population was also observed in Acc-2863(2.34L/ha).The highest yield was found in OM-1 (2.79t/ha)from the 17.03.2004 days of sowing.

Objectives:

1.To find out a line which is early maturing and higher yielding selected by anatomically works

2.To assess their yield performance and attributes under different agro-ecological condition

Methodology:

The materials Acc-2801-2899 with check OM-1 and O-9897 were used and sown in the Manikganj stations of BJRI at O1-03-2004, 08-03-2004 and 17-03-2004 .The experiment was laid out in RCBD with three replications having 2.1m X 3.0m plot size. The materials which produce flowers comparably early and maturing early is our desired. Standard agricultural and agronomic practices were followed.The crop were harvested 120 days after sowing and collecting necessary data(plant population,plant height,base diameter,fiber and stick weight)
