Confirmation of F1 Produced Jute by Hybridization

Abstract/ Executive Summary:

This experiment were carried out at greenhouse,Dhaka in 2004.Among these, Six pods were selected as desired types and these were F1.The combination ware 1.(O-4xAcc-3818)xO-4,2.O-72xO-4,3.O-9897xO-4,4.(O-4xO-72)xAcc-4582,5.(O-4xO-72)x(O-4xAcc-3818) and 6.(O-4xO-72)x(SDLT-2xO-4)

Objectives:

1.To search the desired character recurs or not to F1

2. To confirm the target character recurs or not to F1

Methodology:

The parental lines were O-9897,O-72,O-4,OM-1,Acc-4582(G),Acc-4582(R),O-4xO-72,SDLT-2xO-4,O-4xO-9897,O-4xAcc-3818(G) and all possible combinations crosses were made.Among them only twelve pods were selected as desired types and these were F1.The combination ware 1.(O-4xAcc-3818)xO-4,2.O-72xO-4,3.Acc-4585(R)xOM-1,4.O-9897xO-4,5.Acc-4582x(O-72xO-4),6.(O-4xO-72)xAcc-4582,7.(O-4xAcc-3814)xAcc-4582,8.Acc-4582(R)xO-41,9.O-4xAcc-4582(R),10.(O-4xO-72)x(O-4xAcc-3818),11.O-9897xO-4 and 12.(O-4xO-72)x(SDLT-2xO-4).There are Twelve(12)pods were grown in the greenhouse Dhaka in 01-03-2004. The seeds were sown in earthen pot.Proper intercultural operation and agronomic practices were maintained.Diseases infected and pest infested plants were removed from the pot.Top cutting were performed after 100 days of sowing in the stations must keeping isolation distance preferably in pots in Central station ,Dhaka.The parental line like plants may appears or not.Generally hybrids showed vigor in nature.If produced plants is desired was selected for next year.
