The experiment were carried out at BJRI,Dhaka in 2004.Among the germinated lines Acc- 3820 gave higher green weight per plant(gm)4.89g/plant .Highest no.of(8)leave per plant were observed in five lines.

1.To find out vegetable type of tossa jute(Corchorus Olitorius L.)

2.To find out bushy,high leave having type of tossa jute(Corchorus Olitorius L.)

Fourteen germplasms and two varieties O-9897 and O-72 were collected and grown at BJRI,Dhaka in 2004 but these were O-9897,O-72,OM-1R,P-11/95-2,P-7/95-2, Acc-2019,Acc-901, Acc-4719,Acc-3820, Acc-4579,Acc-4565, Acc-4562,Acc-4691, Acc-4689,Acc-4594 and P1-404027.The materials were sown in three meters length and two lines for each germ plasm maintaining RCBD method. The experiment was repeated again after three month interval. Proper intercultural and agronomic practices were followed for raising the crop. Necessary records were kept like plant height,base-diameter,leaf length,leaf-breath,no.of leave per plant and green weight per plant(gm).The sown materials were harvested after 45 days of sowing.

The line Acc- 3820 gave higher green weight per plant(gm)4.89g/plant so can be preference for vegetable type of tossa jute.
