The germination test in saline water (5m mhos/cm). Only 185 C.capsularis germ plasm accessions (acc. No. 836-1020) along with var. D-154, BJC-83 and BJC-7370 as control were taken up under this program. Twenty five seeds in 4 replications from each accessions were allowed to germinate in saline water in petridishes. Germination of the seeds was counted 4 days after seed placement for germination including control.he result reputed that most of the accessions germinated in normal water but only 12 seeds of accession no. 858 germinated in saline water. The varieties D-154, BJC-83 and BJC-7370 showed only 4, 2 and 4% germination at that salt concentration respectively.
