Preliminary Yield Trail (pty) to Develop High Yielder Varieties.

Abstract/ Executive Summary:

The study was conducted at BRRI gazipur. Objective of this study was to initial yield evaluation of selected materials in replicated trail. Twenty-six genotypes were evaluated in three trails (PYT-E, PYT-M and PYT-L). Forty-five-old seedlings were transplanted in 5.4 m x 10 rows, plot using 2-3 seedling with a spacing of 25 x 15 cm. Filed layout of each was RCB design with three replications. The study indicates that the genotypes selected from PYT# M ITA234 yielded the highest followed by TOX3093-35-2-3-3 and IR3888-2-10-3.

Methodology:

Twenty-six genotypes were evaluated in three trails (PYT-E, PYT-M and PYT-L). Forty-five-old seedlings were transplanted in 5.4 m x 10 rows, plot using 2-3 seedling with a spacing of 25 x 15 cm. Filed layout of each was RCB design with three replications. Fertilizers @ 100:80:60:100:10 Kg NPK, Gypsum and ZnSO₄per hectare were applied. Split application of N @ 40+30+30 kg/ha were done at 15 days after transplanting,maximum tillering and PI stages respectively. Total amount of P,K,Gypsum and ZnSO₄ were applied at the time of final preparation.

Achievement/Findings:

The genotypes selected from PYT# M ITA234 yielded the highest followed by TOX3093-35-2-3-3 and IR3888-2-10-3. All the selected longer duration than the check. None of the tested entries in PYT#E and PYT#L performed better than BRRI dhan28 and BRRI dhan29.
