Selection of F4 Progenies of White Jute

Abstract/ Executive Summary:

Under this experiment 34 lines derived from different cross combinations among the indigenous and exotic materials and CVL-1 as check were grown at Manikganj. Among them, 25 lines were isolated based on their tolerance to low temperature, higher plant height, cylindrical shape and fast growth.

Methodology:

Seeds of each 34 F4 lines and control were sown in row on 2nd week of March, 2002 and selection were done on the basis of desired traits.Seeds of selected plants were collected separately.
