The experiment was conducted in JAES, Manikganj. Seeds of 50 C.olitorius accessions and one accession no. 1348 (which was reported earlier as short day tolerant strain) were used for this experiment. Varieties O-9897, OM-1 and O-72 were used as control. Seeds were sown in two times in the field in 3m single rows. The dates of sowings were 1 and 15 March 2004 respectively. Each of the 50 accessions were germinated in the field.The revealed that in the 1 March sowing all accessions flowered within 31-40 days after sowing (DAS), accession 1348 flowered 55 days after sowing but control varieties O-9897, OM-1 and O-72 did not flower.In 15 March sowing all accessions flowered within 30-60 DAS, but 1348 and control varieties did not flower within 168 DAS. After that the plot was inundated with flood water for 45 days and the whole plot was damaged. At that time top cutting of the 1348 was done for getting seed.
