8 samples of fuel cake were made by using jute waste rice bran and bitumen. The burning performance of fuel cake made of jute waste, rice bran & bitumen were evaluated. Test results revealed that the burning capacity of jute waste was comparable with that of rice bran. But the burning performance of fuel cake deteriorated quickly when bitumen was introduced with rice bran & jute waste. It was a primary work for fuel cake.

To produce  different types of jute waste for production of fuel cake.

(1) Collection of Jute waste from Jute & Textile Product Development Center (JTPDC), BJRI. (2) Collection of Bitumen from wet processing department of pilot plant processing division, BJRI. (3) Collection of Rice Bran from local market. (4) 8 samples of fuel cake ware made by using 100% jute waste, 100% rice bran and their combination with help of bitumen.

In this experiment, 8 samples of fuel cake were made by using 100% jute waste, 100% rice bran and their combination with the help of bitumen at different ratios. From table 1 it was found that the burning time of fuel cake was highest (7 minutes) when 100% rice bran was used. The fuel cake made of 100% jute waste exhibited comparable performance (6 minutes) regarding burning in compare to fuel cake made of 100% rice bran. The burning capacity of fuel cake deteriorated quickly when bitumen was introduced with rice bran & jute waste. It was also observed that huge amount of smoke with bad smell was produced when bitumen was introduced with rice bran & jute waste.
