The study was conducted at the research field of Horticulture Research Center, BARI to screen cucumber lines against leaf miner during summer 2008-09 cropping season. A total of 21 lines were evaluated. Among the lines, CS0070 found resistant (16.67% infestation) and CS0063 found moderately resistant (39.56% infestation) which can be utilized for varietal improvement.

To find out cucumber lines resistant to leaf miner and virus in summer.

The study was conducted at Olericulture Division of the Horticulture Research Center, BARI, during October to February, 2007-08 cropping season. Twenty one cucumber lines viz., Commercial local cultivar, CS0028, CS0034, CS0035, CS0049, CS0050, CS0052, CS0059, CS0061, CS0062, CS0063, CS0067, CS0070, CS0071, CS0075, CS0077, CS0079, CS0080, CS0082, CS0083 and CS0084 were evaluated in the field condition using randomized complete block design with three replications in 1.5mx1.2m plot size. Data on leaf miner infestation were recorded in top 10 leaves from 5 plants of each replication at 15 days interval.

The line CS0070 ranked as resistant and CS0063 ranked as moderately resistant. Rest of 19 lines found susceptible to highly susceptible. Therefore, it could be suggested for varietal improvement.
